Seasonal service involves a deep cleaning, including removing the keys and vacuuming the keybed where dust and debris can accumulate over time. In addition to this cleaning I will also inspect the hammers, the action, the mutes and the strings and will talk with you about anything that is broken or otherwise in need of repairs. This seasonal service can take more than an hour and involves a deeper level of disassembly of the piano action to reach all the places to be inspected and cleaned. It is highly recommended that this is performed at least once per year to keep your piano working in top condition.
This light cleaning keeps the piano’s interior free of dust and cobwebs, improving sound clarity and preventing buildup that could affect performance over time. For best results, this should typically be done by a professional technician familiar with piano anatomy to ensure no damage occurs. No liquids or chemical cleaners are used inside the piano to prevent damage to wood, felt, or metal components.
The process avoids disturbing the piano’s tuning or mechanical alignment. If a deeper cleaning or any repairs are needed (e.g., sticky keys or heavy debris), I will recommend a more extensive service and provide an estimated cost. All cleaning is billed at my hourly rate.
